A&E Nurse Job Description

Nurse (Staff Nurse, Registered Nurse, Registered Practitioner)Band5 : Assesses patients, plans, implements care, provides advice,  maintains associated records.: Carries out nursing procedures.: Provides clinical supervision to other staff, students.: Professional/clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level.: Assessment of patient’s condition, suitability for discharge.: Organises own time and that of junior staff and students.:  Dexterity and accuracy required for e.g. intravenous injections, syringe pumps and infusions, insertions of catheters, removal of sutures.: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates clinical care of patients.: Maintains patient’s records.: Works within code of practice and professional guidelines.

Nurse specialist band 6 : Assesses patients, plans, implements care, provides specialist advice, maintains associated records.: Carries out nursing procedures.: Provides supervision to other staff.: Professional/clinical knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma level specialist training, experience,  short courses: Skills for assessment and interpreting specialist acute and other patient conditions, appropriate action.:  Organises own time and that of junior staff and students.:  Dexterity and accuracy required for e.g. intravenous injections, syringe pumps and infusions, insertion of catheters, removal of sutures.: Assesses, develops, implements specialist nursing care programmes advises patients, relatives: Maintains/updates patient/client records.: Works within code of practice and professional guidelines.: Concentrates on patient/client observations, assessments
